Submarine Battle
Game design & development
- Objective
- Build a playable battleship-style game that runs in the browser: nine submarines in three groups hidden on a 7×7 grid.
- Architecture
- Game state held in plain JavaScript (grid, fleet placement, hit detection and an accuracy counter), rendered to the DOM.
- Crew
- Solo: design and build.
- Outcome
- A complete game with win detection and live accuracy tracking.
Submarine Battle is a browser strategy game in the spirit of Battleship. Nine submarines in three groups hide on a 7×7 grid (columns 0–6, rows A–G), each group lined up horizontally or vertically. The goal is to sink all of them.
How it plays
- Pick a cell to fire at, and the grid shows a hit or a miss
- An accuracy counter tracks your hit rate live, starting at 0%
- The game ends when the last submarine goes down
How it's built
The game state (grid, fleet placement, hit detection, accuracy) lives in plain JavaScript and is rendered to the DOM. It needs nothing more than a modern browser.
